Matthew Vaughn Wants To Make A Fantastic Four Movie

It's not a great time to be a Fantastic Four fan. Not only do all the movies suck, but Marvel has stopped publishing the series after a dispute between Disney and Fox, the latter of whom own the movie rights to the characters. While the Human Torch and The Thing will be starring in Marvel Two-In-One this December, they're still two members short of the full team. It looks like Matthew Vaughn is aware of this, as the director has shown interest in directing a film for the team.

The Kingsman director told Cinema Blend that he is a big fan of Marvel's first family, and would love to work on a film with them. He feels that the fans deserve a good film with the team since none of the movies starring them are any good. In fact, the most recent reboot is the worst of the bunch, despite starring a quartette of talented actors.

Here is Vaughn's full comment:

The other one I've felt an obligation to dois, I wouldn't mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn't go very well for them. It's brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I'll try and rectify the mistake.
Vaughn has shown that he can work with the original source material and adapt them for a modern audience, with Kick-Ass and Kingsman. On a personal note, it would be great if Vaughn's Fantastic Four movie was a period piece similar to X-Men: First Class.

In the meantime, fans have Kingsman: The Golden Circle to enjoy. The movie will be released this Friday, on September 22. Vaughn is also in talks to work on the unnamed Man of Steel sequel.
