Matthew Vaughn In Talks With Warner Bros. For Man of Steel 2 Director’s Seat

Though Zack Snyder's divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was meant to be the follow-up to the first film of the DC Expanded Universe, Man of Steel, it seems like the movie will still be receiving a direct sequel, and new reports indicate that a new director is being eyed for the film.

With Snyder busy working on Justice League, the sequel to the contentious director's Man of Steel is reportedly to be given to another.

According to Collider, Warner Bros. is currently eyeing on Matthew Vaughn to take the project.

Though the Kick-Ass and Kingsman: The Golden Circle director hasn't committed to the movie just yet, it seems like he's considering the offer and in an interview with the publication, Vaughn shares the tone he'd make, if he'd direct Man of Steel 2.

"I think that's the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me."

Though Man of Steel certainly had its flaws, Snyder's take on the film was an interesting direction for the Superman franchise. Let's wait and see how negotiations with Vaughn work out and whether a colorful and lighter version of Man of Steel 2 would help the DCEU.
