Marvel's The Eternals Now Has 2017 Black List Screenwriters

It looks like Marvel is moving forward with a live-action adaptation of Jack Kirby's The Eternals, as the studio has reportedly hired two writers to script the project. The company has hired a very interesting pair of writers, Matthew and Ryan Firpo, who are responsible for Ruin, which was a part of the 2017 Black List.

The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, who confirmed that the Firpo brothers were hired to adapt the classic Jack Kirby property. No directors or actors have been hired yet, so this project will probably take some time to get off the ground.

For those unaware, the Black List isn't just a television show but is a list of favorite unproduced screenplays. Ruin was a part of that and managed to attract Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot to it, though the film was never made. Still, it is interesting to see Marvel hire more unconventional writers.

Jack Kirby's The Eternals is one of the more interesting Marvel comics out there, focusing on super-powered humans who were experimented on by the Celestials, who have been making some form of a comeback in Marvel comics. The most popular version of these characters come from Neil Gaiman, who worked on a maxi-series about the group with artist John Romita Jr a few years ago.

No release date on The Eternals has been released.
