Marvel's Inhumans Movie is Now a TV Show, Coming to ABC & IMAX in 2017

The planned Inhumans movie is gone. Marvel just announced that instead of seeing the adventures of Medusa, Black Bolt, and the Inhuman royal family as a film, they will now appear in their own TV series on ABC. The new show will also premiere in IMAX commercial theaters, making it the first live-action TV series to debut in such a format. The first two episodes of the series will premiere in fall of 2017 under the title Marvel's The Inhumans in IMAX for two weeks beginning September 2017.

The Inhumans film was originally scheduled to release on November 2018, but has been pushed back from Marvel's previous release schedule. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., however, introduced the characters.

According to THR's sources, the first season will run for eight episodes, and it's not a direct spinoff of the story events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Earlier this year, there were rumors that the film would be killed off, but considering how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been developing the Inhumans mythos, it makes sense to continue that worldbuilding with the Inhumans characters on TV.
