Marvel Will Reprint A Rare Jean Grey Tale This December, With Color For The First Time

To celebrate the December debut of Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey, Marvel has announced a number of True Believer reprints. Each one is a classic comic and a historical moment for Jean, like her wedding with Cyclops and her death in the hands of a fake Magneto (don't ask), each costing a dollar. Some of these are standard fare reprints, but there is one that will catch the eye of X-Men fans: True Believers: Phoenix - Bizarre Adventures.

Reprinting the Jean Grey story in Bizarre Adventures #27, Marvel will actually be coloring this for the first time ever in this True Believers one-shot. While the story is no stranger to reprints - fans can see it in the Dark Phoenix Saga: 30th Anniversary Edition - it has never been seen in color. The fact that Marvel is reprinting it for a dollar means that it could sell like pancakes when it comes out.

Since December is the month of Phoenix, fans shouldn't expect to see the complete issue of Bizarre Adventures #27. The issue also has stories featuring Nightcrawler and Iceman, the latter of which was reprinted in Uncanny X-Men #600 without color. Still, it should be a worthwhile buy for those that want to see the Jean story colored for the first time, making it a more refreshing read.

True Believers: Phoenix - Bizarre Adventures will be available in December, so you may want to tell your local comic store to reserve it. Also available in December is Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey, where we can finally see the original X-Man return to a whole new world.
