Marvel TV Pushes Back The Punisher's Launch Date

It looks like The Punisher's special panel at this year's New York Comic Con isn't the only one getting canceled because of the tragic mass shootings at the Lollapalooza music festival in Las Vegas.

Not only has Marvel and Netflix decided to back out of their special screening at the "Black Night" event at the Paris Cirque d'Hiver, but it seems like the studios have decided to delay The Punisher's launch.

Marvel had reportedly been keeping the release date of Jon Bernthal's solo superhero series because it had been preparing a surprise launch at the 2017 New York Comic Con.

Unfortunately, the studios decided to cancel everything in light of the mass shootings n Las Vegas.

Now, rumor has it that the launch has been delayed to sometime late in the Fall, giving viewers sometime after the shootings.

While this may come as a disappointment to fans who've been waiting for The Punisher to drop, it comes as no surprise that Marvel TV and Netflix would cancel their plans in light of the Las Vegas tragedy, knowing how dark and violent The Punisher is going to be. Frank Castle has always been a dangerous military man, and it wouldn't be right showing so much violence after the real-life shootings. Guess we'll just have to wait.

The Punisher premieres sometime in 2017.
