Marvel Spoils Their Big Wedding Twist For X-Men Gold #30

When Marvel advertised a big wedding for X-Men Gold #30, they said that Kitty Pryde and Piotr Rasputin aka Colossus would finally be getting hitched after getting back together in the series' earlier issues. However, wedding issues almost never go perfectly and many were expecting a twist or tragedy of some sort.

SPOILERS FOR THOSE PLANNING TO BUY THIS COMIC BOOK

Thanks to the New York Times, we now know that Kitty gets cold feet and the two don't end up getting married, as revealed by X-Men Gold writer Marc Guggenheim. That doesn't mean no one is getting married, however, as the issue soon reveals a surprise proposal and marriage of another long-time on-again-off-again couple; Gambit and Rogue.

Unlike Kitty and Piotr (too soon?), Remy Lebeau (Gambit) and Anna Marie (Rogue) do end up getting hitched in the end, so there is a happy ending for one X-Men couple.

Because of this reveal, Marvel also revealed their big X-Classified series; Mr. and Mrs. X. This is a new ongoing series coming out in July, detailing the adventures of a newly-married Gambit and Rogue that will be written by West Coast Avengers writer Kelly Thompson and drawn by Oscar Bazaldua.
