Marvel Spoils A Big Return In Secret Empire

It looks like Marvel has spoiled one of their biggest secrets in the latest preview of Secret Empire #10. To be fair to the company, the "return" was technically spoiled in advance when Marvel's November 2017 solicitations were revealed to the public. Still, some would argue that Marvel should not have jumped the gun and let readers find out on their own.

Spoilers in 3...2...1….

The New York Times has revealed that the real Captain America has returned, in his original costume no less, to take down his Hydra counterpart. While the character's return has not been detailed in the preview, we do see him use Mjolnir in the battle against Hydra Steve, or "Stevil" as Rocket Raccoon would say. Fans might not appreciate the spoiler, but it will be good seeing Rogers wear his old costume again.

Steve Roger's return was technically revealed back in July, when Marvel announced Captain America #695 as part of their Legacy rebranding. It will be set sometime after Secret Empire, as the real Steve tries to find his place in America after the disastrous events done by his Hydra-self. The issue will be written by Mark Waid and drawn by Chris Samnee, the same creative team that made magic with Daredevil and Black Widow.

Fans excited for Steve's return can pick up Secret Empire #10 this week. Captain America #695 comes out this November, with the regular cover done by Chris Samnee and a lenticular cover by Alex Ross, which pays tribute to Invincible Iron Man #126 by John Romita JR and Bob Layton.
