Marvel Reveals Peter Quill's Father in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and New Logo


During Marvel Studios' San Diego Comic-Con panel, Marvel Studios just revealed the identity of Peter Quill's father in Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2.: Ego The Living Planet! The character will be played by Kurt Russell, an he will play a central role in the film's plot. Director James Gunn posted about it on Facebok in which he states that the film will answer the question, "How can a planet father a child?." Here's the Facebook post:

"Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Dave Baustista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin. New cast membes also include Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debecki, Kurt Russell, and Pom Klementieff.

The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2017.
