Marvel Reprints Power Pack Graphic Novel, In Light Of Movie Rumors

Power Pack is one of Marvel's most obscure superhero groups, but it looks like they're about to be thrust into the spotlight. A report from That Hashtag Show states that the superpowered family is being developed, though no green light has been given yet. It looks like Marvel is getting ready for one, as the company will be reprinting Power Pack Classic Vol. 1.

Revealed in Marvel's December solicitations, the graphic novel collects the first 10 issues written by Louise Simonson and drawn by a variety of artists. Marvel doesn't usually reprint obscure stories like this unless a movie/tv series is being developed, or a new comic series is being planned. While a Marvel Legacy one-shot featuring Power Pack is being planned, it's doubtful that will get the company excited to reprint some of their older material.

Here is the graphic novel's synopsis:

"Teen teams are nothing new, but only one super-group got started at age twelve and under! Alex, Julie, Jack, and Katie Power prove you're never too young to save the universe when they use the powers they received from one alien race to foil the schemes of another - the dreaded Snarks! Back on Earth, they meet another new archenemy, General Carmody, a mutantphobe so confused he even targets heroes who AREN'T mutants! Guest-starring Spider-Man, Cloak and Dagger, and Henry Peter Gyrich of Initiative infamy! Collects Power Pack #1-10."

Just to be clear, the graphic novel isn't a full-blown confirmation for a movie or tv series. Last year, Marvel published new collections for the classic Thunderbolts comics that were relevant in the 90's, which was mostly done to promote the new ongoing series at the time. Still, it would be cool seeing Power Pack as one of the unconfirmed movies that take place after the upcoming Avengers films.
