Marvel President Hints At James Gunn Working On Spinoffs For Other Cosmic Characters

Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end, and Marvel Studios has entrusted the development of the fourth phase to director James Gunn after the success of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Sure everyone's attention might be on The Russo Brother's Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, but Marvel's been busy making sure that fans will have more films to entertain the fanbase after the end of Phase 3.

Sitting down in an interview with Vanity Fair, Marvel President Kevin Feige recently spoke about having about 20 films lined up after Avengers 4. During the discussion, Marvel Studios' head honcho along with Disney chairman Bob Iger both hinted that Gunn was working on ways to expand the Guardians of the Galaxy series into different directions, teasing that the filmmaker was probably hoping to have several characters get their own spinoff movies in the Marvel Cosmic franchise.

This is definitely exciting news for fans. Everyone's been hoping to see Adam Warlock on the big screen ever since his cacoon appeared in a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and there are a lot of fans hoping that characters like Richard Rider, Phyla-Vell, Quasar, Moondragon, Captain Universe, the Eternals and Darkhawk might get a chance to appear in a Marvel movie.

Avengers: Infinity War makes its big premiere on May 4, 2018, while Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
