Marvel Plans On Publishing MCU Timeline In The Future

There was a time when fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe didn't really think too hard about the timeline of these movies. Of all the movies to get fans crazy about it no one expected it to be Spider-Man: Homecoming, a fun, down-to-earth movie that revealed it was set eight years after 2012's Avengers. It has fans wondering how far into the future these films are, with Homecoming realistically being set in 2020.

During the press junket for Thor: Ragnarok, Screen Rant brought up the topic to Kevin Feige. It seems like he is aware of the problem, as the head of Marvel Studios announced an official timeline will fix these problems and will be published in the near future. Feige didn't say when it would be released, or in what format, but it will be coming.

While not the most essential collector's item in the world for casual fans, a guide regarding when all the films take place would be great for Marvel enthusiasts. Though the MCU timeline isn't as confusing as the one for the X-Men movies, there's nothing wrong with having some form of clarity. Hopefully, it answers all the questions raised by Spider-Man: Homecoming.

No release date for the timeline was revealed. There is a Marvel Cinematic Universe Guide that fans can check out, but that mostly focuses on character guides and plot summaries.
