Marvel Pays Tribute To Stan Lee’s Late Wife, Joan Lee

Every fan was sad to hear that Stan Lee's wife, Joan Lee had passed, and tributes have been pouring out from all over the internet. Marvel has released a video tribute to Joan as well, and it has Stan Lee talking about how he met her during a panel at the Paley Center with Joe Quesada.

The video also came with this caption:

"On April 14, 2017, Joe Quesada, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer, sat down with Stan Lee at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, Calif. The video [above] was originally planned to be part of a series from the event scheduled for release later this year. In remembrance of Joan Lee and her importance to Marvel and the history of comics as a whole, we felt it appropriate to release this now."

It's quite sad that Lee was already planning to hit 70 years with his wife before her untimely passing. The video recounts how Joan had saved the Marvel Universe by making sure that Stan didn't quit his comic-writing job and pushing him to publish a comic that he really wanted to do. That comic was the Fantastic Four.

I guess a lot of us Marvel fans have Joan to thank for all the cool characters that came from Stan Lee. Without her advice, Lee would have quit, and we'd never know where the Marvel universe would be now. Maybe DC would be 22 movies in on its cinematic universe. Who knows?

Rest in peace, Joan Lee. Our love also goes out to you and your husband Stan. Stay strong.
