Marvel Head Kevin Feige Comments on Latest Deadpool 2 Trailer; Teases X-Men Origins

Seeing that Deadpool 2 and Avengers: Infinity War share Josh Brolin, it was only a matter of time before we got a teaser that would make fun of Thanos. Marvel head Kevin Feige actually had a few things to say about the trailer, and even pokes fun at the earliest incarnation of Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Talking to CinemaBlend, Feige commented:

"I thought it was very funny… I think that's one of the great things about Deadpool, both in the comics and what Ryan has done with him in the movies, is you can break the fourth wall. They mention DC in the new trailer! They can get away with that, and it's great. That was the only way to have done it, from the comics in the movies, and it's great that they did. Versus earlier incarnations of Deadpool in earlier X-Men movies..."

Director of Deadpool 2 David Leitch has confirmed that not all the jokes in the trailers will make it to the final cut of the movie, but it's still pretty fun to see Reynolds take jabs at the MCU and the DCEU as well. If we don't get the ‘Thanos' joke or the ‘DC' joke, I'm just hoping Leitch saved something better for the actual movie.

Deadpool 2 will be the next superhero film to follow after Avengers: Infinity War, and it's competition only gets worse with Solo: A Star Wars Story releasing a week after. Let's hope the Merc with the Mouth can catch the same box office magic it did back in 2016.

Deadpool 2 comes out May 18.
