Marvel Gets Jabs For Branding Avengers: Infinity War The “Most Ambitious Crossover Event In History”


Marvel just recently decided to brand the first installment in its two-part Avengers movie event as "the most ambitious crossover event in history" and it looks like some fans just don't agree.

The studio's little tagline for Avengers: Infinity War has received quite the response from netizens on Twitter, with many sharing memes of "the most ambitious crossover event in history" online.

From The Rugrats mash-up with Aaah!! Real Monsters to the Ninja Turtles meet up with the Power Rangers, fans have been pointing out examples of other interesting and iconic mash-ups in history. There's even one meme insinuating that Cadbury Dairy Milk's mash-up with Ritz is even more ambitious than Avengers: Infinity War's crossover.

Of course, these mash-up memes don't really mean that Marvel fans aren't any less excited for Infinity War. Everyone's eager to see the Earth's Mightiest Heroes team up together with other big Marvel stars – imagine all the banter between Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), or the lines between Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

In fact there's so much excitement for Infinity War that the advanced ticket salesfor the film managed to break Fandango's pre-sale records, tripling the mark set by Black Panther back in February.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres April 27.
