Marvel Coke Mini-Cooper Giveaway Should Be Winner Tricked by Contest Organizers?

Marvel and Coke launched a viral marketing contest soon after Sunday night's Ant-Man vs. Hulk Super Bowl spot was released.

The prize is a mini-cooper. A fan supposedly "won" the prize right away, but he went home disappointed with no cooper in tow.

In the Ant-Man vs. Hulk Super Bowl spot, coordinates to a parking lot in Los Angeles was included as part of the contest. One Reddit fan by the handle "showbizclique" should have win the prize, but apparently he arrived too early and since the hosts of the giveaway were still unprepared, he didn't win any giveaway at all.

What's really disappointing is the fact that the host of the Mini-Cooper giveaway told the Reddit user to wait. The host then filmed a Snapchat video of the winning password phrase, but that same host didn't tell showbizclique about the phrase being required to win. showbizclique didn't bother looking at additional clues since he was already told to wait, so 30 minutes into waiting, another person won after showing up with the winning passphrase.

showbizclique explained:

So I was following the viral marketing for the coke/marvel ad that played during the Super Bowl last night and coordinates pointed to Griffith Park, somewhere I live very close to. I drove up and arrived at a parking lot with an RV and a red mini cooper. Someone was filming me as I was trying to figure out what I needed to do next and the host told me to wait, so I sat 15 mins thinking he'd give me follow up info.
When he gave me no such thing I began searching around the park thinking it would be hidden, only to find nothing.
After an hour of searching, someone pulls up and yells "Make it Mini"
They won the car. I was so confused that it wasn't until after did I realize this host screwed me over. The final clue was a snapchat vid that he made after I had already arrived. Rather than telling me there was another clue, he told me to wait. Had I not trusted him and tried looking for more info online, I could have probably won the car 30 mins before anyone arrived. I left salty, calling coca-cola and filing a report just so I could have my voice heard. It's a bummer I came so close to winning something only to be misled at the end.

If you're wondering whether the Reddit user is telling the truth, he said what happened to him has been recorded by the Mini-Cooper giveaway team. In addition, Redditor NickCostanza says he can back showbizclique's claim since he also arrived at the park at the time.

I'd have to say that what the host had done was pretty tricky indeed. I hope the Reddit user gets the justice that he deserves.
