Mark Ruffalo Says There Will Never Be Another Hulk Solo Movie

The last time we saw a solo Hulk movie was back in 2008 with The Incredible Hulk, and 19 years later, there never was a follow-up movie. Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo opens up about where the next Hulk solo movie stands, and apparently, it doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.

In an interview with Variety, Ruffalo comments:

"I want to just make one thing perfectly clear today: A standalone 'Hulk' movie will never happen. Universal has the rights, and for some reason, they don't know how to play well with Marvel. And, they don't want to make money."

Fans have known for a while that Universal was the reason behind the Hulk not taking the spotlight again, but now we can see a bit more behind it. Now Marvel has to try gimmicks like putting Hulk in the Thor: Ragnarok movie; I'm not complaining that he's in it—I'm just saying why it happened.

Looking back at Incredible Hulk, I'm pretty happy on where the character is now. Sure, Ruffalo's Banner may not be the most interesting character, but his Hulk is nothing short of spectacular onscreen. To be honest, I find Edward Norton's Banner more skinny-looking and weak, making him a fantastic Bruce Banner; Ruffalo is actually a bit more muscular, but he does talk in a very calm voice that makes him a good opposite to the Hulk.

Ruffalo's Hulk returns in Thor: Ragnarok which hits theaters Nov. 3.
