Mark Millar Wants Tessa Thompson To Be The New Kick-Ass

Mark Millar's Kick-Ass was a smash hit when it comic book stores and reached even bigger heights when the first film came out. The comics by Millar were much more grotesque and violent, so when a new version of the character was announced, fans were excited. We now know that she's an African-American named Patience Lee and that she will be the star of a new Kick-Ass comic book next month.

With all that anticipation, fans want to know who Millar would want to see portray Patience Lee on the big screen. The acclaimed comic book writer gave a pretty good answer on Twitter: Tessa Thompson from Thor: Ragnarok.

Thompson impressed everyone with her performance as the alcohol-loving Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok. It was so impactful that Marvel decided to integrate an all-new Valkyrie into the upcoming Exiles series. She was cool, confident, and kicked a lot of ass, so it's easy to see why Millar would want to have the actress portray Patience Lee in a theoretical Kick-Ass reboot.

Of course, there are no plans for a third Kick-Ass movie, at least not yet. The first and second movie didn't really break the box office, though the films based on his Kingsman comic have done pretty well. Only time will tell if we see a rebooted Kick-Ass with Thompson in the lead but we can all dream, can't we?

Kick-Ass #1 comes out on February 14.
