Mark Millar Thinks Comic Book Movies Should Be Done With CGI Villains

Mark Millar is undoubtedly one of the most influential comic book writers today, and he's had a hand in making the best stories for Marvel and DC. With Justice League being another misstep for DC, Millar has come out to say what he thinks is wrong with modern comic book films: CGI villains.

Here's his short rant:

While I do agree that the CGI villains make the third act less compelling, I think it ultimately boils down to how well a character is written. I actually like the characterization of James Spader's Ultron, but I think he just wasn't given enough time to develop himself properly. Hopefully Marvel has something good planned for Josh Brolin's Thanos.

Also, looking at the other "human" villains, there have also been some missteps. Mads Mikkelsen is one amazing actor that was wasted in Doctor Strange, and Suicide Squad's Enchantress was also a one-dimensional villain.

We've actually been introduced to some cool antagonists this year, and I would love to see some of them come back in the films. I know Wonder Woman2 will be set in the 80s, but I would love to see Doctor Poison come back in some way.

Marvel's next big CGI villain, Thanos, invades the MCU on May 4, 2018.
