Mark Hamill’s Funny Theory On What Happens To Luke After Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Star Wars fans saw the heartbreaking end to Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) story in Star Wars: The Last Jedi as the Jedi Master heaved his last breath while staring at a twin sunset on the island of Ahch-To before fading off into the Force.

Though the scene was an indubitably painful moment for many, Luke's death has stirred up quite a debate in the fanbase. It seems like some Star Wars fans have been wondering whether why Luke's metal hand went along with him when he disappeared into the air in The Force Awaken's sequel, debating the feasibility of the metal hand going along with Luke.

Taking to Twitter, The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson decided to address fans' questions regarding the hand, and Hamill responded with a pretty funny suggestion.

After recounting a story where someone in the editing room "suggested" that Luke's metal hand "should clank down onto the rock" while he fades off into the horizon, Hamill goes on to build his own hilarious theory.

"Maybe Luke just transported to a Nudist Colony," Hamill joked.

Hey @rianjohnson- Maybe Luke just transported to a Nudist Colony.#ThisTheoryWhichIsMineAndBelongsToMeHoweverLikelyOrUnlikelyImFineWithIXhttps://t.co/zNt9olUJFU

It's a preposterous suggestion but hey, doesn't Luke deserve a vacation after saving the Resistance on Crait? Guess that's an entirely different story in itself. We hope we get to see Luke's Force Ghost in Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening in cinemas.
