Mark Hamill Has Some Hilarious Star Wars: Episode IX “Casting News”

Luke Skywalker's journey might have come to an end in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but some continue to hope to see the legendary Jedi Knight make his way back to Star Wars: Episode IX, even as a Force Ghost of sorts.

Being the joker that he is (pun intended), Star Wars legend Mark Hamill has regularly toyed around with the fanbase hoping for Luke's return in the final chapter of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, and today the actor's decided to pull a new prank on fans.

Taking to Twitter, Hamill decided to share a picture of an empty robe, saying that the Jedi clothing was just recently cast by J.J. Abrams in Episode IX.

Take a look at Hamill's hilarious post down here:

Though the tweet is obviously a joke some have taken the tweet a bit seriously, saying that they hope that Hamill meant the post as a hint that he'd be appearing in the upcoming Star Wars saga installment. Honestly, though, it's hard not to giggle over the idea of a body-less robe floating up and down a Star Destroyer haunting Kylo Ren (Adam Driver).

While there is no certainty whether Hamill will reprise his role in Episode IX, one thing's for sure – fans are going to see Billy Dee Williams return as Lando in the final Star Wars sequel trilogy movie.
