Mark Hamill Greets Daisy Ridley ‘Happy Birthday’ With A Familiar Photo

Daisy Ridley celebrated her 24th birthday this past Sunday. To greet her, co-star and on-screen mentor, Mark Hamill, sent a special shout out to the Brit actress a photo with both of them goofing around on the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII.

The 64-year-old actor captioned his photo with the actress giving him a piggyback: "A long time ago (last week I think) In a galaxy far, far way (@PinewoodStudios) THIS happened! Happy Birthday Daisy!"

Check out their adorable photo below:

It's worth noting that the piggyback ride is similar to a famous scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Luke Skywalker carries Jedi Master Yoda on his back at the swamp in Dagobah.

Clearly, there will be some sort of Jedi training of Luke and Rey in Episode VIII.

It's not the first time that Hamill has taken to social media to greet a fellow Star Wars cast member. Last month, he also greeted John Boyega, who played Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a happy birthday via Twitter.

The actor also has a habit of teasing fans on social media about the latest news on Star Wars.

At a recent Oxford University Union appearance, Hamill raved about Ridley, saying:

Daisy is incredible, so genuine, appealing, lovable, she beams, she has a wonderful charisma. I adore her.
She's my daughter's age, and that's how I relate to her.

There have been rumors of Rey being the daughter of Luke because of her Force powers. Although Hamill and Ridley seem to be getting on well at the Episode VIII set like father and daughter, we'll have to wait until Episode VIII or IX comes out to know whether Rey and Luke are linked by blood.

Personally, I think this theory could be true and Rey could be related to Palpatine.

Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley will reprise their roles as Luke Skywalker and Rey, respectively, on Star Wars: Episode VIII, to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
