Major Star Wars Character Confirmed Not To Be in Rogue One

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to explore events that happened before the original Star Wars took place, so some fans are speculating that one major character from the franchise in the fim might show up, but it looks like those fans will be disappointed, according to Rogue One's director and producer.

When the Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spin-off was returning into production for reshoots, it was rumored that the extra shooting time would allow the recently cast young Han Solo, Aiden Ehrenreich, to appear in the movie. However, director Gareth Edwards and producer Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the Millennium Falcon pilot won't show up in the upcoming film.

During an interview with Extra, Gareth Edwards squashed the rumor, and flatly denied Han Solo's appearance:

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy also confirmed that Solo will not be in Rogue One:

I think they would promote the heck out of it if they decide to include a cameo of the young Han Solo in Rogue One. There's a rumor that the Han Solo spin-off will be a trilogy, so if that ends up being true, I don't see the need for them to include him in Rogue One.
