Mads Mikkelsen's Villainous Character in Doctor Strange Revealed


This week, we learned details about Mads Mikkelsen's two chaacters: Galen Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and now we know the villainous character that he will be playing in Marvel's Doctor Strange thanks to the line of Diamond Select Doctor Strange minimates that's set to release.

The description of the figures confirm that Mikkelsen will depict the villain Kaecilius and that Zara Pythian is playing Zealot. Heroic Hollywood shared the official description of the figures:

A Diamond Select Toys Release! The next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now the next entry in the long-running Marvel Minimates line! Series 70 of Marvel Minimates mini-figures travels to the world of the Doctor Strange movie, with four different two-packs: Dr. Strange with The Ancient One, Mordo with Kaecilius, the specialty-exclusive Stephen Strange with Christine Palmer and the specialty-exclusive Wong & Zealot! Each 2-inch Minimates mini-figure features 14 points of articulation and fully interchangeable parts. Each two-pack is packaged in a full-color window box.

In the comics, Kaecilius is a disciple of Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) before he came a villain against the Sorcerer Supreme. Here's what Mikkelsen previously said about his character:

"Not really a baddie, but someone who believes in something else than what Doctor Strange believes in."

The description also tells us that Rachel McAdams is playing Christine Palmer.

Synopsis:

Marvel's Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City's Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson, and is set to release on Nov 4, 2016.
