Mads Mikkelsen Clarifies He's Not The Villain Of Death Stranding

For months, fans have thought that Mads Mikkelsen will be playing the main antagonist for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding, but Mikkelsen has spoken up about it, and says that it's simply not the case. During the Saudi Arabia Comic-Con (via Game Rant), Mikkelsen has confirmed that he is not, in fact, playing the villain of the game.

When asked about his role in Death Stranding by a fan, Mikkelsen said, "No, I'm not a villain. I am a character in there that you can kind of decide what he is, but he's not a villain." If that was the case, I would think that Mikkelsen would be some kind of underling to a villain we have yet to see.

So who just who exactly is Mikkelsen playing? My best guess is that he will start out as some kind of anti-hero for Norman Reedus' character, and he will eventually join his side at some point — maybe he'll even end up being playable, who knows? Then again, news has also come out that Mikkelsen got confused when Kojima was explaining Death Stranding's story to him — something you could expect from the guy behind the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

Mikkelsen is a superb actor, and with the combined forces of celebrity game designer Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding is sure to blow everyone's socks off.

Death Stranding is a PS4 exclusive currently in development, and has no official release date as of now.
