Lucas Hedges to Play Shia LaBeouf in Biopic... About Shia LaBeouf

It's been a long time since Shia Labeouf was the face of the Transformers franchise, but now news has it that he'll be starring in a movie that he wrote which is a biopic about himself. What's cool is, LaBeouf will be playing his own father in the movie, and the film has cast an actor to play young Shia LaBeouf.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, young Shia will be played by Manchester by the Sea's Lucas Hedges. The movie is called Honey Boy, and focuses on the relationship of Shia LaBeouf and his father back during his Even Stevens days.

This was the official description of the script:

"A child actor and his law-breaking, alcohol-abusing father attempt to mend their contentious relationship over the course of a decade."

LaBeouf himself co-wrote the film under the pseudonym Otis Lort, and it's pretty interesting that he's attached to play his own father in the movie. After a rough tumble in the public eye, it seems like LaBeouf ‘s upcoming project will be something he holds very personally.

"Honey Boy" is apparently the nickname LaBeouf got from his father.

I don't know what to expect from the film, but I think LaBeouf is an interesting artist in whatever he chooses to do. Whether it's making the "DO IT" meme or making people watch himself watch his entire filmography, LaBeouf is something of a character even offscreen.

No release date has been announced for Honey Boy.
