Long Beach Mayor Says Marvel is Worse Than Garbage

Almost every comic book fan will tell you if they have a preference between Marvel and DC comics, and others like both comic book franchises. Then, there's there are people who would freely diss one side because they're such a hardcore fan of the other. Apparently, the mayor of Long Beach, California is one of them.

After the final trailer for Wonder Woman was released in yesterday's MTV Movie Awards, Mayor Robert Garcia, a self-admitted "comic geek", talked about his excitement for the DC film. Then he decided to insult DC's biggest rival with a straightforward tweet, saying that Marvel is worse than garbage.

I know politicians are supposed to share their views on various issues, and it's cool to see them discuss entertainment topics through social media but Garcia picked the wrong battle, and his tweet will surely piss off millions of Marvel fans.

Synopsis:

Before she was Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, Diana meets an American pilot (Chris Pine) who tells her about the massive conflict that's raging in the outside world. Convinced that she can stop the threat, Diana leaves her home for the first time. Fighting alongside men in a war to end all wars, she finally discovers her full powers and true destiny.

Wonder Woman will be released in theaters on June 2.
