Logan is Decidedly Hugh Jackman’s Last Wolverine Run

It's hard to picture anyone else besides Hugh Jackman when it comes to Logan a.k.a. Wolverine's character.

Aside from rocking the mean sideburns and horned hairdo, Jackman had both the callousness and intensity that made Logan appeal even to non-comic readers. And with Logan about to hit theaters, fans are pretty much torn about where Wolverine stands now in the franchise.

This is because Logan is supposed to be the last Wolverine movie in the franchise. And based on Jackman's statement to Entertainment Tonight, it is very possible that this really is it.

"There is not a frame of this film where I can't say I didn't put everything into it. I couldn't have made this film if I didn't make the decision within myself that this was the last one. I just didn't compromise on anything. I was a pain to a lot of people, because I don't get another shot at this. This is a character I love. I owe my career to this character."

That is what I would call an ode or a tribute statemen to a character—and one that is at peace with it even when parting. The aged Logan is even a fitting end to what would be Jackman's run with the character, as described by his co-actor throughout all those movies, Patrick Stewart.

"His work throughout the franchise is compelling and powerful and witty and very entertaining, and I believe what he does in Logan is quite extraordinary. The aging, the sadness, the weariness, the borderline despair he exhibits coupled with that edge that has always been there is quite remarkable."

Logan will display's Jackman's prowess when it hits theaters on March 3.
