Live-Action Teen Titans Casts Anna Diop As Starfire

Though Marvel may be a struggling a bit when it comes to making their TV series, DC has been spinning off various shows. The live-action Teen Titans is getting some steam, and the show has just cast another Titans member in the form of Starfire.

According to Deadline, 24: Legacy actress Anna Diop will be taking the role of Koriand'r a.k.a. Starfire. Here's their description:

"Starfire (aka Koriand'r) is an alien princess from a warrior planet who seeks asylum on Earth. A no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners stranger on our world, she has the ability to shoot energy bolts and fly. Searching for her place on Earth, she'll come into contact with the Titans."

The only other cast member so far is Teagan Croft who will be playing Raven, and fans are still waiting for the announcements of other members like Robin or Beast Boy.

A lot of fans will definitely remember the animated Teen Titans' take on Starfire where she has a bubbly and happy personality and is constantly riffed at for her misunderstanding of Earth's ways. I don't know if she'll adapt the same persona in the series, but Starfire from the cartoon also started out serious before she became friendlier.

Very little is known about this upcoming Teen Titans show, but we do know that head of DC Entertainment Geoff Johns is going to be helping write it.

Teen Titans is expected to air sometime in 2018.
