Live-Action Bleach Producer Confirms That A Sequel Would Focus on This Fan-Favorite Arc

Last week, we learned that the producer of the live-action Bleach movie Hiroyoshi Koi hopes to make a film trilogy based on Tite Kubo's popular anime franchise, and of course, Bleach fans would know the most likely story arc the sequel would focus on. The Soul Society arc would be the next logical step, and when Koi was asked again about the possibility of a sequel, he confirmed that the sequel would focus on the Soul Society arc.

Speaking to Cinema Today, he said:

"I want to do the Soul Society arc. After all, if the first one succeeds, you can spend more money and time on the second to present a bigger sequel to the world. It would be a good thing for the franchise."

The Soul Society arc is when Bleach actually gets more serious as it introduces one of its most powerful antagonists and develops the universe of the anime further. It's actually my favorite arc, but the following arcs that came after that were disappointing, and that's why I quit reading the manga.

The first Bleach film is said to follow the Substitute Shinigami arc from Tite Kubo's manga and anime. It's set to release in Japanese theaters on July 20, 2018.
