Letitia Wright Confirmed As T’Challa’s Sister in Black Panther

A lot of excitement has building up over the release of Chadwick Boseman's very first Black Panther solo after his Marvel debut became one of the highlights of Captain America: Civil War. Fans praised Boseman's rendition of Black Panther and many are eager to see more of the Hollywood actor in the MCU. However, as with all of its films in production, Marvel has been keeping Black Panther's secrets under lock and key, and though new set photos have been rolled out, nothing much has been revealed about the film.

Except for now that is. Disney has just confirmed the Letitia Wright's Black Panther character during their CinemaCon presentation yesterday. The studio showed off a graphic featuring the film's cast along with the names of their character, and Wright has been confirmed to play the part of Shuri, T'Challa's youngest sister.

For those who aren't familiar with the character, Shuri who was written to be a princess of Wakanda later on succeeds T'Challa and becomes the Black Panther and ruler of her country. She's a confident and ambitious girl who's been speculated to be the character Wright's set to play in the movie for quite some time. Though Wright is a Hollywood newcomer, it seems like this role in Black Panther will help her break out into the scene.

Black Panther is scheduled for release on Feb. 16, 2017.
