Laura Dern Writes A Tribute To The “Goddess” and “Truth-Teller” Carrie Fisher

It's been a year since the tragic and untimely passing of Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher and the actress' fans, family, and friends all over the world have been flooding the internet with heartfelt tribute pieces to the spunkiest princess from Lucasfilm's galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi actress Laura Dern might be one of the new faces to come on board the Star Wars franchise, however, the Academy award nominee definitely felt the impact of Fisher's legacy and the actress decided to write a post thanking the legend for "the privilege of knowing you."

Taking to Instagram, Dern shared a couple of photos of General Organa. In the post, she wrote a warm message "To a goddess, an icon, and a truth-teller. The deepest kind of inspiration. Thinking today of the privilege of knowing you."

In The Last Jedi, Dern's character Admiral Holdo was one of the Resistance Leaders that fought alongside with Leia. Though we only get to know her for a short while in the film, in the novels, Leia and Amilyn Holdo meet at the Apprentice Legislature and become good friends over the course of time. We get to see a bit of that friendship in The Force Awakens sequel as well and it adds to the weight of Holdo's sacrifice in the film.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening in cinemas.
