Laura Dern Teases Admiral Holdo As One Of The 'B*tchiest' Characters In Star Wars

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is going to introduce us to some new characters, and one of them is Laura Dern's Admiral Holdo. It's been said that Holdo will be one of the antiheroes, going head-to-head with General Leia, but Dern herself gives us some perspective on Holdo's personality as a whole.

Talking to The Telegraph, Dern admits this about Holdo:

"She's there to shake things up, which I like many of my characters to do… I love being given a character that seems the most intolerable one, the most nightmarish, the bitchiest… If you start there, you're free to do everything… I like finding heroism in the most potentially hateful person."

Though Holdo is confirmed to be one of the Resistance, it's said that she is not scared to get her hands dirty when it comes to defeating the First Order. I guess you can say she's a mirror of Saw Gerrera from Rogue One—except where Saw is an underground militia man, Holdo seems to be an upper-class socialite.

Holdo is only one of the new characters we meet in the movie; we'll also be running into Benicio del Toro's DJ as well as Kelly Marie Tran's Rose Tico.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
