It's fair to say that Kingdom Hearts 3 got a lot of love during E3, getting showcased by Microsoft, Square Enix, and Sony. Each video did show off something new, with the final presentation by Sony revealing a brand-new Disney world that has excited fans and freaked them out at the same time; Pirates of the Caribbean.
The world is exciting because these films are usually fun and action-packed, well two of them are anyway. What's freaky is that the graphics are so good that the pirates cast look just like their actors, which would normally be awesome but fans have to see them interact with Donald, Goofy, and Sora, all of whom still look stylized.
We also get an update on Axl, now called Lee after the events of Dream Drop Distance, and Kairi, who is now training to be a Keyblade wielder. Unfortunately, the trailer does not show them in action but they will probably play a part in the game's story somehow.
No longer slated for a release this year, Kingdom Hearts 3 is now coming out on January 29, 2019. The game will be coming out on PS4 and Xbox One. Fans can catch up to the story by purchasing the 1.5 and 2.5 HD remasters on both systems, along with the 2.8 collection that has Dream Drop Distance.
