Kurt Russell Kept On Mistaking Star-Lord For “Star Wars” On Set Of GOTG 2

It seems like Kurt Russell isn't so fond of the name Star-Lord on set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

James Gunn's superhero space romp is getting its DVD and Blu-Ray release later this month and to help add to the hype, Marvel's been releasing a few of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's deleted scenes. One of them includes the retelling of the War on Xandar focused on Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) while the other shows Kraglin (Sean Gunn) showing Star Lord how to play with a Zune.

Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, another deleted scene has Kurt Russell making a few bloopers calling Peter "Star Wars" instead of Star-Lord.

"Well, even where I reside out past the edge of what's known, we've heard tales about the man they call Star Wars," the actor says by mistake in the deleted scene. "We could be in trouble," he adds jokingly.

The next time he tries another shot at the take, the Ego star makes the same mistake, making everyone on set laugh again.

"We've heard tell of the man they call Star Wars. Ugh. Yes, Star Wars. He's all of Star Wars," Russell blurts out. "We've heard of the movie Star Wars."

It's a funny mistake that's easy to make. Not only is Star Wars far older than Star Lord, but there's also the fact that Russell did try to audition for Han Solo's part back in the 70s.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 gets its Blu-Ray and DVD release on August 22.
