Kong: Skull Island Director Teases His Next Movie About Video Games, Sci-Fi, And Detroit

Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has recently made headlines with his attacks on Youtube channel CinemaSins, but now he's teasing audiences about his latest project which is due for an announcement tomorrow morning.

He posted last week:

And just recently:

Some people have guessed that Vogt-Roberts is talking about a Metal Gear Solid movie, but he confirms that isn't the case. For now we just have to wait and see if this new movie will be a direct adaptation of a video game or more of a creative sci-fi flick that is tied with videogames—pretty much like that Gerard Butler movie, Gamer.

Since details about this project have been kept under wraps, I'm imagining that we would have gotten a lot more coverage if Vogt-Roberts was working on adapting a popular game into a movie. The setting does look dark though, and I think it's safe to think that the setting is in a dystopian future (like every other sci-fi movie, it seems).

Good news is, we don't have to wait that long for the announcement. After Skull Island made a lot of money for Legendary, Vogt-Roberts must be getting the greenlight for a lot of his future projects. I guess we'll just have to wait and see till tomorrow morning to see what Vogt-Roberts' next movie is all about.
