Kingsman: The Golden Circle Could Have A 'Jaw-Dropping' Director's Cut

With a hard R rating, it's easy to assume that Kingsman: The Golden Circle would have very little to cut. However, it turns out the sequel had a lot of raunchy scenes that had to be cut due to time constraints. In fact, Colin Firth brought up the possibility of a "jaw-dropping" director's cut of the movie, which sounds fairly intriguing.

During an interview with Screen Rant, Firth said that a lot of the more intense content was cut. This is saying a lot, considering the amount of violence we saw in the first film, but it seems like even R-Rated films have their limits. Firth is hoping that a director's cut is eventually made, just so fans can see some of the more extreme ideas that were cut from theaters.

"There's plenty on the page when you read the script and make you think "oh, that's going to be intense", and then when you get onto the set it's more intense. He'll [Vaughn] have an idea. There were one or two things that are in the film, some that are not. There may be a director's cut one day where, actually, your jaw drops."

Now, cutting content for time constraints is nothing new. Anna Paquin was famously cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past, though her scenes were later restored in the Rogue Cut, which fans actually preferred over the theatrical release. Still, it would be nice to see the more risky content in a future director's cut, especially for hardcore fans of Vaughn.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle shows this Friday, on September 22.
