Kevin Smith is hyped for his directorial debut on Supergirl and promises some big things. In a recent instagram post, he revealed that a brand new alien race will be featured on the show. You can see the post below:
He writes "These Maaldorians are gently urging me to remind you that ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, the episode of @supergirlcw I directed takes flight! I'll be LiveTweeting during the show and doing an FB Live afterwards so I can geek out over this outer space ep with you! So I'll see y'all in #NationalCity next week!"
The Maaldorians are a complete unknown as they don't appear to hail from their comic book source material. Their motives, way of living and abilities are a big mystery. Though the instagram post seems to indicate they're somewhat hostile.
Kevin Smith's upcoming episode of Supergirl will be titled "Supergirl Lives". It will feature Kara and Mon-El searching a planet called Slaver's Moon for a girl named Izzy. Presumably that's where they'll run into the Maaldorians.
"Supergirl Lives" will premiere Monday, January 23 on the CW.
Smith's enthusiasm is infectious, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing his episode. I have a feeling the Maaldorians are enslaving another alien race just from the information we have now. What do you think? Are you looking forward to the episode?
