Kevin Smith Says He “Wouldn’t Mind” Bidding To Direct DCEU’s The Flash

For the past few months fans have been worrying about The DC Extended Universe's standalone film for Ezra Miller's scarlet speedster. The Flash didn't just lose one director, but two. Seth Grahame-Smith left the project last year after meeting "creative differences" with Warner Bros. and Rick Famuyiwa did the same after encountering the same issues with the studio.

Now, it seems like renowned director Kevin Smith is putting his name into the ring. Taking to Twitter, the filmmaker who broke into the scene after releasing Clerks said that he knew of "at least one director who wouldn't pass" on the opportunity to work on The Flash: himself.

DC handing the reins to the project to Smith wouldn't be the first time the director's worked with the speedster – after all Smith has directed a number of episodes on The CW's The Flash series, a large number of which has received positive response from critics and fans.

Though directing episodes of a tv series and a standalone film aren't entirely the same, DC fans would probably enjoy seeing Smith behind the wheel of the DCEU's The Flash.

The Flash doesn't have any release date as of yet however Miller will return to the big screen in Justice League which premieres on November 17, 2017.
