Kathleen Kennedy Says Lando Will Get His Own Star Wars Spin-Off Film

Critics and lucky fans who were able to watch an early sceening of Solo: A Star Wars Story are loving the Ron Howard-directed film, and many of them have praised Donald Glover's performance as Lando Calrissian. Glover portrayed the character excellently, and the actor himself even expressed interest in reprising his role for a spin-off film focused on his character.

During an interview with Premiere France, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the next spin-off film will focus on Lando Calrissian.

"We think that the next spin-off will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian," Kennedy said. "Of course, there are still many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca, but Lando will be next."

Before you get excited, note that "next" in this context probably means before the Solo: A Star Wars Story sequel. It would be cool to see a spin-off focused on Lando but if Lucasfilm really decides to move forward with it, I hope that its story won't fill like a filler. We've been hearing rumors that the next Star Wars spin-off film will focus on Obi-Wan Kenobi.
