K-2SO Might Have Survived In Rogue One

Rogue One had a pretty dramatic end, killing off its major characters as Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and the rest of the Rogue One team give up their lives to send the Death Star plans to the Rebellion.

This includes one of the franchise's saltiest droid, K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), a fan favorite that met his end at the hands of these stormtroopers while locking down a data vault so that Jyn and Cassian could find the Death Star plans without any interference.

While it might seem impossible for K-2SO to make a comeback, it seems like the droid might be appearing in a new Empire Strikes Back comic by Marvel. In the studio's illustrated edition of the Star Wars movie, R2-D2 tries to go on a mission to rescue C-3PO from an Imperial Star Destroyer. There, fans get to run in with an Imperial security unit that speaks a lot like K-2SO.

K-2SO also tried to trick a few Stormtroopers on Jedha the same way in Rogue One, so while it may be logically improbable for the droid to appear in anything after Gareth Edward's Star Wars spinoff, there still might be a chance for the character's resurrection. That or we're just over-reading things.
