Justice League: Steppenwolf Actor Ciaran Hinds Never Met Any Of His Co-Stars

Ciaran Hinds played the leader of the wildlings in Game of Thrones, but he'll be gracing the screens in Justice League—sort of— as the villain Steppenwolf, leading Darkseid's parademons to Earth. As it turns out, Hinds never got to meet any of his other cast mates as all, and his performance will be fully CGI in the film.

In an interview with the Michael Ball Show (via Reddit), Hinds explains:

"I'm sorry I'm not in costume. I didn't even have a costume when I was doing it. It's all done in motion capture. So… they stick a helmet on your head, they put two cameras around, and they capture all your expressions, facial expressions. So basically, they're going to concoct some kind of construction and they will use my facial expressions – eyes, mouth, voice – they'll turn into this murderous, avenging Steppenwolf from the planet Apokolips, apparently. Who's bent on Hell on Earth."

Looks like a lot of Hinds performance will be similar to that of David Thewlis in Wonder Woman when he played Ares. Just like Hinds, Thewlis is a bit on the old side, so it wouldn't make sense to have him doing fight scenes with the rest of the cast.

For now, a lot of people are just holding their breath to see if Justice League will be able to live up to the success that was Wonder Woman. With Zack Snyder out and Joss Whedon on board, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully we'll get a final trailer come SDCC 2017.

Justice League hits theaters Nov. 17.
