Justice League Rumor: Joss Whedon’s Reshoots Will Change The Original Ending

With Joss Whedon taking over Justice League and the reshoots he's been in charge of said to be ‘extensive', a lot of rumors have been coming out on just how bad Zack Snyder's original cut of the movie was. /Film's Peter Sciretta has shared a rumor that Whedon is changing the movie's story in a huge way, going so far as to change the original ending of the film.

With Justice League initially considered to be the first entry in a two-part story, Whedon's changes are said to de-emphasize the impending arrival of Darkseid, adding to Steppenwolf's image as the main villain of the film. It's also been said that they have reshot a scene with Robin Wright's Antiope character from Wonder Woman, all with the intention to make sure that Steppenwolf is a serious threat.

With Hollywood currently being obsessed with building franchises, a lot of movies have fallen into the trap of being elaborate trailers for their sequels. Such was the case with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and people have also been saying the same thing about Tom Cruise's The Mummy reboot.

Hopefully Justice League doesn't make the same mistake of being too focused on selling the next movie. With Thanos coming out to battle the Avengers, I would rather the DCEU focus on a different villain who isn't the DC equivalent of the Mad Titan. Sure the characters may have their differences, but both Thanos and Darkseid are basically hulking alien beings from outer space who are powerful enough to bend the universe to their will and defeat the strongest hero in the group like he was nothing. Surely DC could do better.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
