Justice League Dark Gets A New Screenwriter; Still No Director

Warner Bros thought they had director Doug Liman in the bag to helm Justice League Dark, but with his departure from the film, the studio is now scrambling once more to look for a director. In related news, a new screenwriter has also been brought in to polish the script.

According to Deadline, Gerard Johnstone will be doing a rewrite of a script that was based on one from Jon Spaihts (Doctor Strange). Johnstone was said to have gotten the job thanks to an impression he made on Warner Bros when he made his first movie, Housebound.

Johnstone may not be on the shortlist to direct, but IT reboot director Andred Muschietti was said to have been considered, but he had to turn it down so he can focus on the IT sequel where the kids in the first movie will grow up and have to face Pennywise the Clown one last time.

As for Justice League Dark, the project has been having a hard time trying to get off the ground, but it looks like Warner Bros is insistent on getting the movie done. The superhero movie fad is already experiencing some fatigue with audiences, and the DCEU has only started gaining its footing with the release of Wonder Woman.

As for the members of Justice League Dark, they will be the lesser-known magic users of the DC universe. There is still no list on who the members will be for the movie, but it's very likely that we'll be getting John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan the Demon, and Swamp Thing.

Justice League Dark is yet to have a release date.
