Jurassic World II Wraps; Official Logo Leaked

Colin Trevorrow may be busy with Star Wars Episode IX now, but he was responsible for bringing life back into the Jurassic Park franchise with Jurassic World back in 2015. This time around, the director chair is taken over by JA Bayona, and news has it that the production has officially wrapped.

The news comes from Reel News Hawaii who has also teased the official logo for Jurassic World II.

As you can see, the poster seems to borrow an aesthetic choice from the Jurassic Park III were the number is a scratch mark. Some guess that this is actually just a placeholder for the title, and we will actually get a more official one with a proper subtitle instead of a number.

With blockbusters today, the last big franchise to actually use numbers in their sequence was Iron Man. Other franchises like Alien, Captain America, Terminator, Independence Day, Thor, and Avengers have all opted for sub-headings in their titles — why should Jurassic World II be any different?

As of now, very little is known about the plot of Jurassic World II, but we are sure that the movie will have stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard returning. With Jurassic World giving us yet another theme-park-gone-wrong scenario, I'm curious just how this next Jurassic movie will bring something new into the franchise.

Jurassic World II comes out June 22, 2018.
