Jurassic World: Colin Trevorrow Shares A More Accurate (And Silly) Look For The T-Rex


The world has Jurassic Park to thank for every 90s kid falling in love with dinosaurs, but more and more discoveries are coming out that prove that dinosaurs look a lot more different from their onscreen counterparts. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom writer Colin Trevorrow shares this "accurate" image of a T-Rex and jokes about rewriting the whole franchise from the ground up.

When new information came out that dinosaurs actually looked a lot different from the ones in the movies, a lot of childhoods were suddenly shattered by the thought that the terrifying raptors actually had feathers which made them look like giant chickens. This issue was actually addressed in Jurassic World with Dr. Wu explaining that authenticity was shunned in order to prioritize spectacle. Here's the scene:

I'm actually glad they included this bit in the film since it kind of explains the plot hole of how inauthentic the dinosaurs looked. Of course, back then there was still no information that suggested that they were feathered creatures, but it's still a good way to update the sci-fi without disproving the earlier films.
