We all knew that Jurassic World was supposed to be a set-up for a new trilogy of films, and we're getting part two later this year. Now we also have a release date for the third movie in the franchise, and it looks like we'll have to wait a good long while after Fallen Kingdom.
According to the official Jurassic World account:
It looks like Universal is very confident with what Fallen Kingdom has to offer. Though Colin Trevorrow may not be back in the director's chair for this one, it looks like J.A. Bayona has found a good mix of adventure and horror for the Jurassic World sequel. Besides that, we've been hearing nothing but good news from the set.
When it came out back in 2015, Jurassic World had made a ton of money and revitalized the Jurassic franchise. I don't know if this trilogy is going to come out as a saga, but if the brand is going to make money, I imagine Universal is going to do what they can to keep Jurassic alive.
That, and I'm sure they'll want to make-up for the supposedly cancelled ‘Dark Universe' franchise.
Jurassic World 3 comes out June 11, 2021, but Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to release June 22.
