Jumanji 3 will have more Connections to the Original Movie

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was a surprise hit last year, and the producers are confident enough to proceed with a sequel coming out next year. With the last movie having a small nod to Robin Williams' Alan Parrish, it's said that the third movie will have more of a connection to the original films.

Director Jake Kasdan tells /Film:

"Our hope is to keep a long continuity through the whole thing, even though the story that we're telling in the second movie, the movie that we're working on right now is much more connected to the first movie that I made a year ago than it is to the original… We love the idea of keeping all of this together and connected in some way or another."

Though I thought Welcome to the Jungle was okay, I still think that the original was way more interesting as a film. Besides all the action/adventure/comedy elements, you got some pure horror elements from some of the scenes that really keep you at the edge of your seat.

I guess horror isn't something you can find in modern kids' movies these days.

I'm crossing my fingers that Jumanji 3 ends up better than the last film. Maybe we can even have appearances from the original actors. Who knows?

Jumanji 3 is set to come out Dec. 13, 2019.
