Wonder Woman 1984 Director Says Revealing Third Movie's Time Setting Would Be a Spoiler

Wonder Woman can pretty much exist in any era of human history considering that she's an ageless Amazon warrior. This gives Warner Bros the freedom to explore anything within the past hundred years or so. With Justice League set in the modern era and the Wonder Woman sequel set in 1984, where would director Patty Jenkins take her next?

Well, as it turns out, Jenkins can't divulge much about the time setting of a possible third Wonder Woman movie. In a roundtable discussion by Entertainment Weekly, the whole cast along with Jenkins were asked what era they'd prefer the film to take place in. Although lead star Gal Gadot revealed she'd like it to be set in present-day or the future, Jenkins can't give an answer yet.

"I'm the only person who can't answer because I'm likely going to have to choose, so spoilers," she said. "There are lots of great eras."

That being said, Jenkins previously revealed that she already has a story planned out but she isn't quite interested in doing a third film yet. "We actually already know the whole story, and some because it was an Amazon movie as well, so we already have it all mapped out," she said. "It's just a matter of will we change our minds and when."

Both Gadot and Jenkins would prefer to "give it a little rest" and to work on other projects in between before going back to the franchise.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release on June 5, 2020.
