The TV adaptation of The Witcher was released around a month ago and it instantly became a massive hit amongst Netflix subscribers. Its first season proves to be a huge success and is already on track to be the streaming service's biggest series debut ever.

Netflix recently released its Q4 2019 report which shows that in the first four weeks of The Witcher's release, 76 million households chose to watch the adaptation of Andrej Sapkowski's hit fantasy book series.

"During December, we also launched The Witcher, which is tracking to be our biggest season one TV series ever," the streaming service's report writes. "As a testament to how our hit content can penetrate the global zeitgeist and influence popular culture, the show's launch drove up sales of The Witcher books and games around the world, and spawned a viral musical hit."

The first season of The Witcher is certainly a hit and viewers can't wait to see what's next for their favorite characters in the second season. Showrunner Lauren Hissrich previously revealed that there will be a "whole new set of fun characters" to be introduced. Ciri will be "center stage" in Season 2 as she tries to "find safety and respite" with Geralt and Yennefer.

It looks like the viewers would learn more about Jaskier as well. The bard will discover "what he needs and wants in the world," showing more of his serious side in the upcoming season.
